House Keeping:

  • BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – MYSTERY INSIGHT (Who Am I?)
‘I have my origins in both England and France although, strangely, my name is Italian. On my English side I am descended from royalty and lived my life in the lap of luxury. My French ancestors were great hunters but I live life on a much smaller scale. I love walking the neighbourhood, strolling in the garden and meeting people. I have even been known to help out at Hester hoovering the floor after morning tea. I am in my 80s although this description may give some people pause (!) for thought’.
Think you know who this is? Be the first to let me know to Win the weekly prize.
  • THERE’S A BUZZ AT RECEPTION
Ever found yourself at Reception needing to call a taxi? Well there’s no need to return to your apartment anymore as there’s now a phone at the Reception desk. Oh, and the taxi number is 131 008.

Week One of the Spring Menu starts on Monday 28 November.
Please place any orders by 1pm the Thursday before.
Bon Appetit!

THE GIFT OF RETIREMENT IS TIME
For some, you maybe rich in time, so fill it with an activity that aligns with your passions while preserving your mental well-being. Everyone’s retirement experience is unique, whether you plan on travelling, volunteering, or helping out more with the grandchildren, there is no right or wrong way to retire, but keep in mind that if you don’t use it, you could lose it!
Beyond our Borders (BoB) at Hester Canterbury will look at protecting our health and preserving our minds while having something to look forward to etched into the calendar. Maybe grab a friend or family member and escape with V-Line on a day trip or overnight stay to the Bendigo Art Gallery or Maldon Market, join a free walking tour of Melbourne or the Royal Botanic Gardens, or enroll in a short course in arts & crafts, cooking & nutrition, or digital literacy. In the coming weeks, BoB will list suggestions that even you may have provided, that I’m more than happy to assist you with organising if required.

LUNCH IS SERVED
The atmosphere was just perfect for last Friday’s Community Lunch and it was so rewarding to see everyone enjoy the spoils that were served up with gentle conversation.
More importantly, we now require feedback on having a lunch over a dinner, and any improvements or suggestions for future activities & events. In addition, to compliment Friday Happy Hour, we hope to see the return to the community of Fish n Chip Fridays soon. (Watch this space)

Have a fantastic week and take care.
