The survey is independent of BASScare and is 100% confidential. It’s quick, it’s easy and most importantly it is an opportunity for your opinion to be heard. Some good news – our original style coffee machine replacement has been installed, so please come down and enjoy a cuppa of your favourite brew.
Talking of coffee, did you know that coffee beans aren’t actually beans?
Rather, it’s the pit or seed that’s found inside the coffee cherry, as in the picture to the right. The bean is removed from the fruit as part of the harvest process. Assuming the conditions were right, you could plant a coffee bean and it would grow into a whole new coffee plant. The Etymology of the word “coffee” was from the Arabic word “qahwah” which actually referred to a type of wine. The Ottoman Turks then used the term “kahve”, which was followed by the Dutch word “koffie”, from which the English name was derived in 1582.
Week Two of the Winter Menu starts on Monday 27 June..
