Coffee Machine Survey Outcome
Thank to all the Residents that participated in the selection process for the new coffee machine. The outcome resulted in favor for the Lavazza Blue LB2317 Ciara (Capsules) 19 votes to 6. We’ll now proceed with the ordering of the new machine and I’ll advise of it’s arrival and installation in due course. In the meantime I encourage everyone to continue using the current stock of coffee pods until the stock is dwindled down. In the event that we runout of some selections please note that we won’t be replacing it, so apologies in advance.
Re-Caulking
Now that the façade cleaning has been completed the re-caulking to the top of the stone will take place on the morning of Tuesday the 24th September 2019.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Tuesday 17th September 7.30pm
Director: Bryan Singer
Stars: Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee
The film is a celebration of the rock band Queen and its extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury (an Oscar winning performance by Rami Malek). Freddie defied stereotypes to become one of the pop world’’s most loved entertainers, but in attempting to pursue a solo career Freddie encounters a range of difficulties before reuniting with the band for a final triumphant concert. Football Grand Final Saturday 28th September
Watch the Grand Final drama in the cinema from 2:30pm as two teams battle it out for the glory of being the 2019 Premiership winners. It wouldn’t be football without pies and sausage rolls, so these will be served at half time in the main lounge area.
Up & Coming Event
An excursion to view the 2019 Archibald Portraiture exhibition is being planned for mid October. The exhibition is being held at the TarraWarra Museum of Art just outside Healesville. There will be free time allocated for lunch in the Healesville town centre. More details to follow, in the meantime a sign up sheet for expressions of interest will be available at reception next week.
Did you know…
MIND ONE’S P’s AND Q’s
This expression has been use at least since the late eighteenth century, and among the many explanations for its origin, two stand out.
The first claims that English schoolchildren were taught to be careful with the loops on their p’s and q’s so that they didn’t look alike.
The second theory states that tavern keepers, when totalling a beer tab, had to be very precise in their notations of pints (p’s) and quarts (q’s).
Take your pick!
Week two of the new Winter Menu starts on Monday 23rd of September.
Please place any orders by Thursday lunchtime.
Bon Appetit!
