Housekeeping Notices

  • There has been much discussion in the media concerning the Corona Virus vaccination that is about to be rolled out.
So many facts can easily confuse and befuddle, in an effort to provide some clarity and straight forward information please find along with this edition of the newsletter an information sheet on the vaccines and the different way they will work.
  • Make Volunteering the resolution that lasts!!
Over the past year parts of our business have grown in leaps and bounds and one of those areas is our Meals on Wheels program. We are urgently looking for Meals on Wheels Volunteers to deliver meals in the Boroondara area. Being a Meals on Wheels volunteer with BASScare is the perfect introduction to the world of volunteering. It’s one of those rare activities that doesn’t require much time but provides an invaluable service for our clients – perfect for those who can only spare a couple of hours a week.  So If you’ve found yourself with a couple of hours to spare once a week because now you work from home or are retired this is the perfect Volunteer role for you.   For two hours you can deliver the dignity and comfort of a meal, drop in on a friend and make sure everything is OK.
Please help us by spreading the word.
Phone Debbie Hall on 8809 0010 or email volunteers@basscare.org.au

We have some new babies at Hester….

It is with great pleasure that we would like to announce the birth of three wee baby birds…
The parents chose to make their nest in a potted tree on one of the apartment balconies facing Chatham Road.
This is a family of native Myna (or Noisy Myna) bird, unlike the common Myna that is a brown bird of about the same size, with a black head, and is an introduced species.
Both are extremely territorial and this is the second time the birds have built their nest in this location, although this is the first time babies have been born.

Week Four of the Summer Menu starts on Monday 22 February January.
Please place any orders by lunchtime the Thursday before.
Bon Appetit!
