  • BELLS AND WHISTLES
On the morning of Wednesday 19 July, EFSS Fire Services and GMR Mechanical Services will be at Hester Canterbury to conduct the annual Fire System test of all infrastructure. This should not inconvenience anyone, however, there may be alarm tests, fire doors may close, and emergency lighting activated. Please Note: If there is no announcement of an alarm test and you hear the fire alarm, evacuate the building immediately.

WHO’S UP FOR CAKE
Hold off on a big lunch on Thursday 20 July and leave some room for some delicious cake, as we celebrate the residents July Birthday’s from 3pm in the Club Lounge. Hip, Hip. Hooray!

BEYOND OUR BORDERS
There is an abundance of social activities in a stones throw of Hester Canterbury waiting for you to explore and as a reminder we’re grateful to have Elizabeth, BASScare’s Social Support Coordinator, join us for morning tea Wednesday 19 July from 10:45am in the Club Lounge to explain the in’s and out’s of Social Support. Grab a coffee and take a seat for an informative morning.

THE CHEQUE’S IN THE MAIL
If you organize a contractor or technician for an issue in your apartment, the best practice is for them to Invoice you direct, if you are not required to pay at the time. If it relates to something covered by BASScare, the provider of the service will invoice us directly. In addition, just a reminder that any fixed modification to your apartment must be raised with the Village Manager as you will be required to complete an ‘Alteration / Addition Works Agreement’ form. You may source your own quotes / contractors for the works, use BASScare maintenance or we can provide details of our preferred contractors, if requested, for you to communicate with.

Week One of the Winter Menu starts on Monday 17 July.
Please place any orders by 1pm the Thursday before.
Bon Appetit!

WINTER AFTER DARK
Feel like rugging up and taking off into the City of Melbourne one evening? Then maybe your adventurous nature would be interested in immersing itself in light, colour, reflection and music of ‘Lightscape’ an after dark experience winding its way through the Royal Botanical Gardens Wednesday to Sunday from 5:30pm, until 6 August. The spectacular trail of light and sound includes never before seen artworks along with the impressive Winter Cathedral that was a crowd favourite in 2022. For those nocturnal foodies amongst us, maybe you would prefer the return of the ‘Winter Night Market’ at the Queen Victoria Market from 5pm each Wednesday, until 30 August. Warm up next to the roaring open fires, enjoy colourful and unique roving entertainment while feasting on Melbourne’s best food trucks and stalls, local brewers and shopping.

FREE TO A GOOD HOME
If anyone believes they are the rightful owner of a Security Swipe Card with pink ribbon found yesterday, please let me know as I am presently babysitting it. Thank you.
