- WINDOW TO THE WORLD
Just a reminder that Exterior Clean Melbourne will be on-site from 7:30am Tuesday 13 June until Thursday 15 June to clean all external windows. In some cases this will require entry to your apartment to access the balcony or remove flyscreens. For those having their interior windows cleaned, we’ve not been advised which day this will take place as yet. - HESTER CLASS
To this day, the real Erin Brockovich can be seen spruking Australian law firms on the television, but it’s the biographical story of how she got there that is truly worthy of an Academy Award. With stellar performances by Julia Roberts & Albert Finney, ‘Erin Brockovich’ is a true David versus Goliath tale. Screening Tuesday 13 June @ 7:30pm. - MEMORABLE FILM SCORES
Experience a wonderful live concert as the Callisto Strings take us on a journey through memorable musical scores, selected from brilliant movies. Tuesday 20 June 11am – 12pm at Kew Seniors Centre.

ARVAS Assessment Day
As previously outlined, Hester Canterbury is in the process of applying for accreditation through the Australian Retirement Village Accreditation Scheme (ARVAS). Accreditation is independent recognition that an organization meets the requirements of governing industry standards and are recognized for their commitment to best practice, quality, systems and processes and continuous improvement.
All required documentation has now been submitted to QIP for appraisal and a date has been set for an Assessment Team and / or Team Leader to visit Hester Canterbury, which will take place on Friday 30 June, 2023. Observations will be conducted by members of the assessment team as determined by the Team Leader and will generally include a comprehensive tour of the site, which may present opportunities for informal conversations with staff and residents.
Resident interviews will be required on the day and aims to target a cross section of the community’s residents. Therefore, we invite those residents interested in partaking and the residents committee to be available for interview either as a group or individually if requested. We should be provided with a timetable closer to the date so you will not be required to be waiting around all day, though the interview should be scheduled to take place mid morning for residents. Your expression of interest in assisting with the assessment can be submitted to me at your convenience.
Towards the completion of the day there may be a general feedback session from the Assessment Team for staff and residents, involving a brief overview of their provisional findings and we will keep you informed if this is to take place. This self assessment process for accreditation is being undertaken by BASScare on behalf of Hester Canterbury and is not a government or legislation requirement.
