Newsletter 7 December 2022

December 7, 2022

Important Dates

  • WHO’S GOING TO COOK DINNER?
It’s the holiday season and that’s typically time off from the daily chores, so let the wonderful Chef’s at Faversham serve you up a delicious dinner from the new Summer Menu. Please let me know if you would like a copy of the Week 2 menu. Orders due by 1pm on Thursday.
  • HESTER CLASS – MOVIE NIGHT SAILS OUT FOR 2022
A triumphant end to a brilliant year at Hester Class with the screening of ‘The Race Of The Century’ a proud Australian story on the 1983 America’s Cup. To quote Prime Minister at the time, Bob Hawke, ‘Any resident who doesn’t turn up for movie night is a bum’ (Not his exact words). Tuesday 13 December at 7:30pm.
  • DECK THE TABLES WITH CHRISTMAS FARE
It’s almost upon us, the Hester Canterbury Residents Christmas Lunch, next Monday 12 December at 1pm. A time to enjoy the community spirit, reflect upon the year and celebrate good cheer.

House Keeping:

  • MYSTERY INSIGHT (Who am I?)
The weekly Prize jackpots for another week as no one guessed correctly our very own Jail Bird from the last Newsletter. Want to know who’s done time but not the crime? Hang onto your breath, as it was Pat. Sorry there is no Mystery Insight for this week.
  • WE’VE TURNED ON THE SUN
With the least amount of disruption, the Solar Panels are now installed and the switch has been flicked. Hester Canterbury residents can be proud of this clean renewable energy initiative that now sees us off the grid to run the electricity in the communal areas.
  • WE WANT YOUR ‘LIKES’
As previously discussed, Hester Canterbury has ramped up it’s social media presence to gain more exposure in the Community and also promote our beautifullifestyle and apartments for sale. For most of you, Facebook is a term that other people than yourselves use or entertain, however it’s those other people we want to ‘Like’ the Hester Canterbury page. So, we need your help to ask your children, grandchildren, family and friends to take a look and follow us on Facebook. Thank you.

Week Two of the Summer Menu starts on Monday 12 December.
Please place any orders by 1pm the Thursday before.
Bon Appetit!

IF IT DOESN’T RAIN, IT POURS WINDOW WASHERS
Starting on Monday 12 December at 8am, Exterior Clean Melbourne will be on-site to commence the 6 monthly internal & external cleansing of our windows and wash away Winter from the flyscreens. But wait, there’s more! They will also be doing the internal apartment windows and balcony clean for those residents who have requested it. But there’s even more! They will complete an Efflorescence Clean of the tiles, deep clean of the Bluestone Path and Decking, plus wash away the grime from the Polycarbonate Roof and Glass Roof above the front entrance. This is a huge operation and they will be present all week, Monday to Friday and possibly Thursday 22 December to finish up the works. For those having their internal windows and / or balcony cleaned, so you don’t have your belongings displaced for the week, the Contractors are planning on giving us 24 hours notice of the apartments they will service the next day, giving you time to move items off your balconies. (Please let me know in advance if you’ll require assistance with moving things).

A SIMPLE RECOGNITION GOES A LONG WAY
It is with sincere gratitude that Barbara would like to thank the Hester Canterbury community for all their support and kind words after the passing of Len. Your thoughts and kindness has meant a lot.

BoB – BEYOND OUR BORDERS

  • Carols in Canterbury, Sunday 11 December at 7pm in the Canterbury Gardens
