Hester Canterbury has been conceived as an independent living community; yet offering support services should the need ever arise. BASScare, with a proud and distinguished history in creating caring communities, is on-hand to deliver the necessary support to assist residents to stay independent for longer. This is also available in the event of a temporary illness or following a short stay in hospital, for a relatively modest fee.
For most this typically involves a ‘helping hand’ around the home – assistance with grocery shopping, preparing meals, cleaning, changing bed linen or even just replacing a light globe. It’s the type of assistance that all of us have relied on from time to time from our families and close friends.
Of course if your needs are greater, BASScare’s professional and experienced staff can tailor a program of in-home care that will keep you enjoying the superb accommodation and lifestyle at Hester Canterbury.
If however, higher levels of care are ever required that can not be provided in your apartment, residents will have peace of mind knowing that BASScare will, subject to the requirements of the Aged Care Act 1997 (Cth) and the resident’s preference, try to relocate them or their partner to the modern residential aged care facility, Faversham House located adjacent to Hester Canterbury and operated by BASScare. Admission to Faversham House is subject to a suitable vacancy being available and that the care required is able to be provided at Faversham House.
*BASScare is a Commonwealth Government approved Residential Aged Care Provider. As such entry to Faversham House is subject to eligibility based on care needs as determined by the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS). Referral to this service can be made by a local medical practitioner.
